Learn The Art Of Sailing With ASA 101 – Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification

Are you looking to learn the art of sailing on Grand Lake? Then ASA 101 – Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification is the perfect course for you to consider! In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of sailing, from navigation to wind and rigging. With the certification, you will learn how to safely sail a keelboat and become confident in the water. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced sailor, ASA 101 can help you become a more proficient and knowledgeable sailor.

ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification is an introductory course that will teach you all about sailboats and sailing. Upon completing this course, you will have a good understanding of sailboat parts and functions, as well as navigation rules and procedures. Plus, you will be able to explain points of sail such as close hauled and close reach effectively.

In addition to learning how to sail safely, this course also covers 52 skills that must be mastered before certification is granted. These skills include explaining sails correctly and performing maneuvers like jibing and tacking using helm commands in line with USCG Navigation Rules & Regulations Handbook’s right-of-way procedures for safety on the water. When certified in ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing, you should feel comfortable sailing a sloop-rigged keelboat up to 27 feet long with light to moderate winds (up to 15 knots).
